BioWorld Today, for the first time in its publishing history, will begin accepting advertising on a limited basis. The decision has been made, BioWorld Vice President and Group Publisher Donald R. Johnston said, in response to the increased requests from potential advertisers regarding exposure in BioWorld Today's pages.

Johnston noted that for more than a decade, BioWorld Today has built its loyal subscriber base by establishing itself as the most important publication in biotechnology, and the advertising community recognizes the tremendous value in that.

Johnston noted further that BioWorld itself has spent thousands of dollars on advertising, both in print and online, in the last year, mainly promoting BioWorld Today and BioWorld's comprehensive news and information site, BioWorld Online.

"We feel this is an opportunity for us - and for the companies that have asked for years about running ads in the daily," Johnston said. "The ads will also provide information to our readers about a variety of products and services available to the biotech industry."

Advertisements in BioWorld Today will be limited to three per issue. All will be in banner format, running along the bottom of the page. Ads will be visible in the fax publication, as well as in the PDF version of BioWorld Today posted every morning on BioWorld Online. Banner ads on BioWorld Online also are available.
