• Steve Duddy has been appointed corporate advisor for Aqueduct Medical (San Francisco), providing guidance regarding sales, marketing and customer-related activities. Aqueduct develops wound healing and pain management products to enhance the recovery process from cosmetic, reconstructive and other types of surgery.
• Health Systems Solutions (HSS; Tampa, Florida), reported bringing a new team of executives on board. Tom Lillis has been named senior VP of sales. Lillis has held leadership roles at IIS, KPMG, Alliente and Answerthink Consulting. Ted Weaver was named VP and chief technology officer. Most recently Weaver was a founding partner for Magellan Business Partners. Virginia Tomic was named to the newly created position of VP of product management and marketing. Most recently Tomic was VP of product management at Ceridian for benefits and health management divisions. HSS develops home care and healthcare data and technology solutions
• Imaging Diagnostic Systems (Fort Lauderdale, Florida) said that it has renewed the employment contract of its CEO, Tim Hansen, through January 2010. Hansen was appointed CEO of Imaging Diagnostic Systems in July 2004. The company has developed the CTLM system, a continuous-wave laser breast imaging system that creates 3-D images of the breast.
• Robert Barrett has been named director of systems engineering for Intertech Engineering Associates (Norwood, Massachusetts), medical device consultants and engineers, and will be based in the Chicago area. He previously held the same position at Baxter International’s Medication Delivery Division, leading its systems engineering group for software-driven medical devices.
• Anthony Tremblay has been named VP for development at the National Foundation for Cancer Research (NFCR; Bethesda, Maryland), responsible for leading a fundraising program with a focus on gift development, corporate and foundation support, and institutional collaborations and program expansions. Tremblay previously served as director of development and senior development consultant for the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR; Philadelphia). NFCR was founded in 1973 to support cancer research and public education relating to prevention, diagnosis, and more effective treatments for all types of cancer.
• Anthony Costello has been elected chairman of the Society for Clinical Data Management (SCDM; Milwaukee) for 2007. Costello has served on its board for two years, most recently as vice chairman and trustee. He is the co-founder and VP of product development and data services for clinical research software and services provider Nextrials (San Ramon, California),
• Stan Fronczkowski has been named CFO for Strategic Diagnostics (Newark, Delaware). Fronczkowski joins the company after 29 years with Keystone Foods. Strategic Diagnostics also reported that Faye Coggins has been named executive director, marketing. Strategic Diagnostics makes biotech detection solutions for industrial and human health markets.
• Brian Cunningham has been appointed CEO of Trellis Bioscience (South San Francisco, California). Cunningham recently retired from the law firm Cooley Godward Kronish. Trellis specializes in the development of technology platforms for cellular informatics.
• Kirk Williamson has joined ViaCell (Cambridge, Massachusetts) as VP of marketing. Williamson will have overall responsibility for marketing initiatives related to ViaCell’s reproductive health business, including ongoing marketing efforts for ViaCord, a product offering for the preservation of stem cells from umbilical cord blood, and potential new product opportunities. Williamson joins from The Gillette Company where he served as VP and general manager for the Oral-B Professional Products Group.
