• Jay Schnitzer, MD, PhD, has been named VP and associate chief medical officer of Boston Scientific (Natick, Massachusetts). Schnitzer most recently was associate professor of surgery at Harvard Medical School, visiting surgeon at Massachusetts General Hospital and pediatric surgeon at Shriners Burns Hospital.
• CryoCath Technologies (Montreal) said that CFO L. Derek Lindsay will be leaving the company on April 4 and Ginette Gagn will take over that role as of April 7. Gagn joins CryoCath, a maker of cyrotherapy products to treat cardiac arrhythmias, from Boston Scientific.
• The Encorium Group (Wayne, Pennsylvania) reported that it is realigning the responsibilities of its senior management team. The responsibilities of CEO have been transferred to Kai Lindevall, presently Encorium’s president of operations for Europe and Asia. Kenneth Borow, the previous CEO, will remain president of the company as well as assume the new position of chief medical and strategic development officer. Borow joined the company in 1997, and has been CEO for the past seven years. Lindevall was the founder and CEO of Remedium. Encorium is a contract research organization.
