AHC Media, publishers of Medical Device Daily along with a group of weekly and monthly publications and a series of sourcebooks focused on medical technology, has reported promotions and changes in responsibilities for the publications.
Jim Stommen, associate publisher/executive editor, has been named national editor, with expanded responsibilities for developing med-tech audio conferences, coverage of various national/international medical and healthcare investing conferences, and leading the group’s book development, including the annual Medical Device Daily State of the Industry Report.
Don Long has been promoted from managing editor to executive editor and will move from his focus on the daily and weekly publications to oversight and development of the group’s two monthly publications, Biomedical Business & Technology and Cardiovascular Device Update, along with overall responsibility for the group’s editorial presentation.
Holland Johnson, associate managing editor, has been named managing editor, with primary responsibility for Medical Device Daily and related weekly publications Diagnostics & Imaging Week and Medical Technology & Devices Week.
“These changes are designed essentially to take advantage of a deepening pool of talent on the editorial side of this group and to better deal with both the challenges and opportunities that present themselves in reporting about this dynamic industry in our diverse publications,” said Senior Vice President/Group Publisher Donald R. Johnston.
