Gary Ingenito, MD, PhD, has been named senior vice president, clinical development and regulatory affairs, for Angiotech Pharmaceuticals (Vancouver). He formerly was senior vice president of contract research organization SFBC International. Angiotech is focused on developing drug-eluting medical devices and biomaterials.

Lee Langord has been named vice president and general manager of the Central Area for Cardiogenesis (Foothill Ranch, California). Langford previously was a regional manager for Capital Sales. Cardiogenesis is a leader in surgical products used in angina-relieving Transmyocardial Revascularization and Percutaneous Myocardial Channeling.

Herbert Mertens has been appointed to the newly created post of vice president of sales and marketing for Endologix (Irvine, California). Mertens will oversee the U.S. launch of Endologix's Powerlink System, an endoluminal graft (ELG) for the minimally invasive treatment of abdominal aortic aneurysms (AAA). Endologix manufactures minimally invasive treatments for vascular diseases.

T V America (Danvers, Massachusetts) has ex-panded its West Coast Product Safety Services Group. Alfred "Sandy" Mikalow, a safety engineer and founder of his own company, was named product safety engineer for Washington, Oregon, Alaska, Idaho and Montana, focusing on field evaluations and testing services for machinery and semiconductor manufacturers. Mikalow will work from his office outside of Portland, Oregon. Richard Karlinski was named product safety services lab technician for the western U.S., to focus on product safety testing at the San Diego lab. Karlinski's experience is in analysis, troubleshooting and strategic plan formulation. T V America's Product Service Division is a testing/certification organization providing CE-marking assistance, mechanical/electrical product safety, electromagnetic compatibility, field evaluations and performs Notified Body services for a variety of EU directives.
