Nanotechnologies now named NovaCentrix
Nanotechnologies (Austin, Texas), a manufacturer of metal nanoparticles, materials and technology, reported a new corporate name, NovaCentrix, arising from new solutions and new technologies. The new name, the company said, reflects its vision of commercializing nano-enabled products for high-growth applications.
“We offer the products and technologies as comprehensive solutions to our customers, delivering exceptional value in the evolving nanotech markets,” said CEO Steve Leach. “NovaCentrix better represents the inclusive nature of our offering and unique expertise that NovaCentrix leverages to deliver business value to our customers.”
NovaCentrix is focused on three markets: electronics, energetics and life sciences. Life sciences solutions are built on the company's nanoscale silver and incorporated as an anti-microbial and anti-viral additive in coatings, fabrics and wound-care products.
Olympus dedicates new headquarters
Olympus (Center Valley, Pennsylvania), which focuses on designing and delivering imaging solutions, life science and photography, reported the dedication of its new headquarters for the Americas in eastern Pennsylvania, positioning the company “for continued long-term profitable growth,” it said.
CardiacAssist device placed in 3 more hospitals
CardiacAssist (Pittsburgh) reported that it has placed the TandemHeart PTVA System percutaneous left ventricular assist device at three new medical centers. More than 60 hospitals across the U.S. and more than 70 worldwide now use the TandemHeart System for critical ventricular support.
The three new CardiacAssist Centers of Excellence are the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center (Lebanon, New Hampshire), Emory University Hospital (Atlanta), and St. Joseph Medical Center (Towson, Maryland).
The TandemHeart System is designed to help patients survive heart attacks, high-risk procedures and other cardiac interventions without undergoing major surgery. The device has received FDA 510(k) clearance for short-term use and is the only FDA approved device of its kind in the U.S.
