Gary Blackburn, PhD, has been appointed president and CEO of Ohmx (Evanston, Illinois), a protein biosensor company focused on the development of portable, electronic detection devices for use in diagnostics, drug development and industrial applications. Blackburn most recently served as director of research and technology at Motorola Clinical Micro Sensors.

Danielle McCulloch has joined SunTech Medical (Morrisville, North Carolina) as product manager of stress blood pressure systems. Most recently, McCulloch was product manager of new product planning for Guidant's Cardiac Rhythm Management business. SunTech Medical is a provider of in motion-tolerant, non-invasive blood pressure monitoring products and technology.

Collin D'Silva has stepped down as CEO of Transgenomic (Omaha, Nebraska). D'Silva will remain as chairman of the board and will focus on managing strategic customer relationships and the evaluation of corporate strategic alternatives. CFO Michael Summers, who has been with the company since 2004, has assumed the additional duties of CEO on an interim basis until the search for a permanent chief executive is completed. Transgenomic provides products and services to the medical research and pharmaceutical markets, including the Wave System for use in genetic variation detection.
