Alison Taunton-Rigby, president of the MassachusettsBiotechnology Council, has been let go as president and CEO ofMitotix Inc.

Officials at the privately held Cambridge, Mass., company refused tocomment on the reasons for her departure. Taunton-Rigby was hiredby Mitotix in September 1993. Before joining Mitotix, she wassenior vice president, biotherapeutics for Genzyme Corp., also ofCambridge.

According to BioWorld records, Taunton-Rigby was one of only ahandful of female CEOs in the industry.

Mitotix said a search was ongoing for a successor to Taunton-Rigby.
