Derek Bertocci was named CFO of Accuray (Sunnyvale, California), effective Jan. 1, 2009. Previously, Bertocci was CFO at BioForm Medical. Accuray specializes in the field of radiosurgery dedicated to providing an improved quality of life and a non-surgical treatment option for those diagnosed with cancer.

William Keane, MD, has been named chief medical officer of Seno Medical Instruments (San Antonio). He previously was chief medical officer at Reliant Pharmaceuticals. SENO Medical Instruments makes products focused on the early detection of cancer thru the use of its opto-acoustic technology.

Lewis Rumpler has been named executive VP of business development at Signature Genomic Laboratories (Spokane, Washington). Rumpler previously was COO of the Institute for Systems Medicine Planning Authority. Signature Genomic Laboratories provides microarray-based chromosome analysis.

Strategic Diagnostics (Newark, Delaware) said that Stanley Fronczkowski, CFO, will be stepping down from his current position to pursue other interests, effective April 3, 2009. Fronczkowski will remain as CFO until that date. Strategic Diagnostics makes biotechnology-based detection solutions for a broad range of food, water, agricultural, industrial, environmental, and life science applications.
