Electromed gets joint commission's gold seal
Electromed (New Prague, Minnesota) has demonstrated compliance with the Joint Commission's (Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois) national standards for healthcare quality and safety, earning it the Joint Commission's Gold Seal of Approval.
Electromed received the accreditation award after the Joint Commission found that it had demonstrated compliance with the commission's national standards for home care organizations. The on-site survey occurred in September.
"Electromed was evaluated against a set of national standards by a Joint Commission surveyor experienced in the delivery of home care services," says Debra Zak, PhD, RN, executive director, Home Care Accreditation, the Joint Commission. "Achieving accreditation demonstrates Electromed's commitment to provide high quality and safe care to its patients."
Electromed makes the SmartVest airway clearance system, a device that uses high frequency chest wall oscillation to provide chest physiotherapy.
