Bederra to bring nuclear facility online by year-end

Bederra (Houston) said that its Lumar Imaging division is expecting use of its nuclear medicine facility to be fully operational and licensed by the appropriate authorities by the end of this year. The new equipment, manufactured by Phillips, is to be installed into the facility by the end of November. The company said it will provide picture-quality imaging and decrease the exam time by more than 50%.

"We are very excited to be entering into this 18 billion dollar growth industry with the cutting edge equipment that will provide us [an] edge over the competition," said CEO Graham Williams.

The Lumar division will offer nuclear testing for patients in need of cardiac, bone, brain, thyroid, gastrointestinal and a variety of other specialized Imaging tests.
