• Diane Goostree has been named president/CEO and a director for Artes Medical (San Diego). Goostree has served as president and chief operating officer of Artes since March 2006. Artes manufactures aesthetic injectable products for the dermatology and plastic surgery markets.

• James Scibetta has been named CFO of Bioenvision (New York), as of early December. Scibetta most recently was executive VP and CFO of Merrimack Pharmaceuticals, and he is a member of the board and audit committee chairman of Labopharm. Bioenvision acquires, develops and markets compounds and technologies for the treatment of cancer. Bioenvision is also developing anti-infective technologies, including OLIGON technology, a biomaterial that has been incorporated into various FDA approved medical devices.

• Richard Jansen, PharmD, Has been named senior regulatory affairs spine specialist for Musculoskeletal Clinical Regulatory Advisers (MCRA; New York). Jansen joined Spine-Tech in 1991, to head its regulatory and clinical activities. MCRA is a consulting firm serving the orthopedic industry.

• Jane Murray has been promoted to the position of resident for QMed (Eatontown, New Jersey), and she will retain her position of chief operating officer. Murray has been with the company for 20 years, serving as executive VP and COO for the last five years. Most recently she has been responsible for the organization and implementation of the Special Needs Plans in South Dakota and New Jersey. Michael Cox will continue with the company as a director and as a special advisor to the board for strategic development and expansion. QMed provides evidence-based clinical information management systems to its health plan customers.
