Robert Kay, MD, CEO of Cleveland Clinic Florida (Weston, Florida), has announced he will retire, effective June 1. Kay, who has served Cleveland Clinic for nearly three decades, will continue working with the clinic's Florida operations on a consulting basis throughout the summer. Bernardo Fernandez, MD, chairman of the Division of Medicine and head, Section of Vascular Medicine at Cleveland Clinic Florida, will become CEO upon Kay's retirement. Cleveland Clinic Florida is an integral part of Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, a not-for-profit, multi-specialty referral group practice. The Florida facility is comprised of a 150-bed hospital, 100 physicians representing 35 specialties, an outpatient clinic and educational facilities. The hospital is co-owned through a partnership with Tenet South Florida.

Dr. Daniel Marshak has been named vice president and chief scientific officer for PerkinElmer (Boston). Marshak joins PerkinElmer from Cambrex where he served as vice president and chief technology officer. He currently serves as an adjunct associate professor at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. PerkinElmer serves the health sciences and photonics markets

James Robinson has joined VistaCare (Scottsdale, Arizona) as its new executive vice president/chief marketing officer, effective May 31. Robinson comes to VistaCare from HealthBanks, where he has served as president and CEO since 1997. VistaCare is a leading provider of hospice services in the U.S.
