Robert Martin has been named CEO of Ascension Orthopedics (Austin, Texas). Martin has served as president of the company since April of last year. He joined Ascension Orthopedics in 2000 as vice president of international sales and marketing based in Dusseldorf, Germany. Ascension makes small joint implants for the treatment of osteo, post-traumatic and rheumatoid arthritis.

Todd Fanning has been named vice president, sales for Innovative Spinal Technologies (Mansfield, Massachusetts). Prior to joining the company, he served as vice president of sales and marketing for Abbott Spine. Innovative Spinal Technologies is a developer of minimally invasive treatments for spinal disorders.

Paul Kimmel has been named CFO of MediCor (Las Vegas), replacing Tom Moyes, who resigned from that position. Kimmel served with MediCor competitor Inamed from 2000 to November 2005, at which point he joined MediCor as executive vice president and financial controller. Medicor manufactures products for medical specialties in aesthetic, plastic and reconstructive surgery and dermatology markets, including breast implants.

Warren Stowell has been appointed CEO of Telzuit Medical Technologies (Orlando, Florida). A board member since 2005, Stowell succeeds Donald Sproat, who has resigned as CEO and a director. Stowell has more than 23 years of experience as CEO/COO in the healthcare industry. Telzuit Medical Technologies is in the final stages of launching its first product, the Bio-Patch Wireless Heart Monitor.

Jeffrey Peterson, PhD, has joined VisEn Medical (Cambridge, Massachusetts) as director of applied biology. An expert in autoimmune and inflammatory diseases, Peterson most recently served as a group leader in the pharmacology department of Abbott Bioresearch Center. VisEn Medical is developing optical molecular imaging technology platforms.
