Roche Molecular Systems Inc., a subsidiary of Hoffmann LaRoche Inc., has granted Lifecodes Corp. of Stamford, Conn., alicense for the commercial application of the polymerase chainreaction (PCR) process in the manufacture of oligonucleotides,Lifecodes announced Tuesday.
The license will permit Lifecodes to expand its line of researchreagents used with PCR, especially as a supplier of biologicalmaterial in the human DNA identity field. "The agreementallows Lifecodes to expand upon our sale of primers and probeswhich we have either licensed from others or developedinternally," said Walter Fredericks, Lifecodes' chief executiveofficer. -- Jennifer Van Brunt
