Wanda Moebius has been named VP of policy communications at AdvaMed (Washington). Moebius most recently was senior director of communications at the Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America.

• HealthTronics (Austin, Texas) reported an update on the condition of its CEO, Sam Humphries, who was hospitalized May 21 as a result of a cardiac event. The company said that Humphries remains in the hospital and continues to recover. “While Humphries is still expected to recover, it is difficult to assess when he might be able to return to the company,” the company said in a statement. James Whittenburg, president of the company’s urology services division, continues to serve as acting president/CEO. HealthTronics is a urology company providing a suite of healthcare services and technology including urologist partnership opportunities, surgical and capital imaging equipment, maintenance services offerings, and clinical and anatomical pathology services.

Ron Lipstein was named president/CEO of The Sagemark Companies (New York). Lipstein was also appointed to the company’s board. Lipstein comes to Sagemark from Ortec International. Sagemark is an owner/operator of out-patient positron emission tomography and PET/CT medical diagnostic imaging centers.
