Nasdaq seeks more info from SeraCare

The Nasdaq Stock Market reported that the trading halt status in SeraCare Life Sciences (Oceanside, California) was changed to “additional information requested“ from the company.

Trading in the company was halted on Wednesday, at 7:55 EST at a last sale price of $11.52. Trading will remain halted until SeraCare has fully satisfied Nasdaq's request for additional information, Nasdaq said.

Earlier this week, SeraCare reported inadequacies in its financial controls and the release of four top executives (Medical Device Daily, March 16, 2006).

AmeriPath Georgia opens

AmeriPath (Palm Beach Gardens, Florida), which is focused on providing anatomic pathology, cancer diagnostics, and related healthcare information services, reported the expansion of its GI diagnostic services in the Atlanta area.

Jerrold Clark, newly appointed director of GI Diagnostics, AmeriPath Georgia, will head the development of AmeriPath's GI specialty services in the Georgia region, starting with the expansion of a new 6,700 square-foot, high-technology facility in Marietta, Georgia.
