Overview

Bruker Daltonics Inc. manufactures mass spectrometry instruments and accessories for biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies, as well as life sciences, academic institutions and government agencies, with applications in genomics, proteomics, drug discovery, metabolics, microbiology and bioinformatics. Bruker also supplies mass spectrometry-based systems for substance detection and pathogen identification in security, defense and anti-terrorism applications.

Company products include a variety of Fourier transform mass spectrometry (FTMS), matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF), electrospray ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (ESI-LC/TOF), and ion trap mass spectrometry (ESI-Ion Trap) systems, as well as a complete line of automated sample processing systems and productivity-enhancing software for mass spectrometry needs. The Proteineer System was specifically designed for mass spectrometric proteomics applications.

These tools are used in the identification of the structures of genes and their corresponding proteins for drug discovery and development, and for advanced MS bioinformatic applications. The enhanced-throughput data are designed to improve the use of advanced bioinformatics software and information technology used to validate lead targets, understand disease pathways and analyze lead components.
