Abionic SA received U.S. FDA 510(k) clearance for its in vitro diagnostic Capsule pancreatic stone protein (PSP) sepsis test. Produced by the pancreas and immune cells, PSP provides an early biomarker for sepsis that could push back detection of deadly condition by 24 to 48 hours.
Epigenetic test company Volitionrx Ltd. appointed contract research organization (CRO) Diagnostic Oncology CRO LLC (DXOCRO) to conduct development and clinical validation studies for its Nu.Q product portfolio in the U.S. DXOCRO will carry out large-scale finding studies across the U.S. using Henderson, Nev.-based Volition's cancer tests to determine clinical utility in sepsis and cancer. The trials are aimed at U.S. FDA approval of the products.
Volitionrx Ltd. won the CE mark for its Nu.Q NETs test for the detection, evaluation and management of NETosis, a type of cell death characterized by the release of neutrophil extracellular traps, or NETs. The test – the first biomarker approved for the measurement of NETs for patient management – will soon be available for clinical use across the E.U.’s 27 member states.
