NICE supports use of Kardiamobile for paroxysmal afib

The U.K. National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has recommended the use of the Kardiamobile as an option for detecting atrial fibrillation (AF) events in patients diagnosed with suspected paroxysmal AF. Alivecor Inc., of Mountain View, Calif., is the obvious beneficiary of the recommendation, a good bit of news given the company’s struggles to maintain patent protection for its products.

Alivecor taps blockchain technology to connect Kardiamobile users with physicians

Alivecor Inc. is partnering with blockchain technology company Solve.Care to connect users of its Kardiamobile device to physicians through a telehealth network. Tallinn, Estonia-based Solve.Care’s blockchain platform, the Global Telehealth Exchange (GTHE), is an open global cross-border telehealth network currently available in 27 countries. Alivecor’s Kardiamobile 6L device is the first and only six-lead personal ECG cleared by the FDA. Through the partnership, Kardiamobile devices will be integrated with GTHE where physicians will be able to access a user’s electrocardiogram (ECG) reading upon their consent through teleconsultations.

Alivecor gains clearance for AI-driven personal ECG

The U.S. FDA cleared Alivecor Inc.'s Kardia AI V2 interpretive electrocardiogram (ECG) algorithm for use in its personal ECG app and devices. Currently, the Kardia line permits consumers to take a 30-second medical grade ECG at home and instantly see whether they are exhibiting symptoms of atrial fibrillation, bradycardia, tachycardia or have normal heart rhythm.

Alivecor’s Kardiamobile 6L joins COVID-19 fight to detect QT prolongation

With an eye toward helping those potentially suffering from COVID-19, Mountain View, Calif.-based Alivecor Inc. said its six-lead electrocardiogram (ECG), known as the Kardiamobile 6L, now is allowed for use in the measurement of a patient's QTc and detection of QT prolongation. The Kardiamobile 6L enables patients to take a six-lead ECG outside a doctor’s office.
