• Scott Cramer was named VP of sales for Bacchus Vascular (Santa Clara, California). Cramer most recently served as senior VP of U.S. sales and account services for VNUS Medical Technologies. Bacchus Vascular makes medical devices used by interventional radiologists and surgeons for the minimally invasive treatment of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and other peripheral vascular disease.
• Rick Merrill was named president/CEO of Cook Children’s Health Care System (Fort Worth, Texas). Merrill most recently was president/CEO of Driscoll Health System. Cook Children’s is a non-profit organization that includes a nationally recognized medical center, physician network, home health company, health plan, health foundation and healthcare system.
• Larry Miller was named an executive in residence of Innovation Works (Pittsburgh). Miller’s career has spanned the globe and business spectrum, from companies as large as Philips Medical systems as president of healthcare products division with $600 million in revenue to Biomec, a 20-person biomedical engineering company which was acquired by a public company under his leadership as president. Innovation Works invests in seed-stage companies.
• TheraGenetics (London) reported the appointments of Heiner Dreismann, PhD, as chairman of the board and Robert Forrester as director. Dreismann most recently served as president/CEO of Roche Molecular Systems; and Forrester was formerly senior VP of finance and corporate development at Coley Pharmaceutical Group. TheraGenetics is a personalized medicine diagnostics company focused on central nervous system disorders.
