DNA Plant Technology Corp. announced that its FreshWorld unithas entered into a production and marketing agreement for itssweet peppers with Meyer Tomatoes of King City, Calif.

FreshWorld, which is actually a joint venture between theCinnaminson, N.J., biotech company (NASDAQ:DNAP) andDuPont of Wilmington, Del., will provide seed stock from itspatented VegiSweet mini-peppers to fresh market producegiant Meyer. Meyer will grow the mini-peppers, which DNAPdeveloped by somaclonal variation and selected for traits suchas size, sweetness and low seed content. The two companieswill coordinate harvesting, shipping and marketing thepeppers.
