Applied Immune Sciences Inc. has granted exclusive rights toAsahi Medical Company Ltd. of Japan to sell its compact cellseparator devices in the Pacific Rim.

Terms were not disclosed. The Menlo Park, Calif., company'sother marketing partners include Fisher Scientific in NorthAmerica and J-Bio S.A. for Europe.

The sterile, compact MicroCELLectors separate cells forresearch in immunology, oncology, rheumatology and cellbiology. Applied's larger CELLectors are in clinical trials for usein bone marrow transplants, AIDS therapy and kidney cancer.

The company's stock (NASDAQ:AISX) closed at $21.25, down$1.75 on Tuesday.
