415 Capital Management GmbH launched its second fund as it looks to raise €150 million (US$165 million) to invest in companies developing medical technologies to address cardiovascular and neurovascular diseases.
Route 92 Medical Inc. sped past its series F goal, raising an additional $50 million in an extension to the oversubscribed round. The extension brings the total for the series F to $82 million, which the company plans to use to accelerate commercialization of its neurovascular reperfusion and access systems.
Medtronic plc said Monday that it has expanded its limited site release of its new radial artery access portfolio. Acquired from Rist Neurovascular Inc. last year, the portfolio includes the Rist 079 Radial Access guide catheter and Rist Radial Access selective catheter. Dublin-based Medtronic completed its acquisition of privately held Rist Neurovascular in August 2020 for an undisclosed sum – the eighth in a series of tuck-in deals the med-tech behemoth has undertaken since January 2020.
Rapid Medical Ltd.'s journey took a promising turn with a U.S. FDA clearance of Drivewire, the company's steerable guidewire for neuro and peripheral vasculature. Drivewire allows surgeons to adjust the shape of the tip while traversing challenging vasculature. It is the first neurovascular guidewire with a controllable distal end that permits on-demand course and shape changes during a procedure.
