TSI Corp. announced Thursday the acquisition of the twoprivately held preclinical testing companies, Argus ResearchLaboratories Inc. and the Center for Photobiology at Argus Inc.,that comprise Argus.
TSI paid $2 million in cash for the Argus labs, which arelocated in Horsham, Pa. Argus Research specializes in thetesting of substances for reproductive toxicity andneurotoxicity. The Center for Photobiology conducts testsinvolving the ability of chemicals to affectphotocarcinogenicity.
TSI also announced a $3.2 million, five-year contract from theNational Institute of Allergy and Infectious Disease (NIAD) todefine the safety, toxicity, immunogenicity and efficacy ofvaccines for simian acquired immunodeficiency syndrome .
