Roche wins FDA nod for Zika screening test

Roche Molecular Systems Inc. was awarded FDA approval for its donor-screening blood test for the Zika virus. The cobas test, which can be run on cobas 6800 or 8800 systems, is the first of its kind for commercial screening.

Animas to leave U.S., Canadian insulin pump market, customers transitioning to Medtronic

Animas Corp., a Johnson & Johnson diabetes care company will leave the insulin pump market in the U.S. and Canada, and discontinue its Animas, Vibe and Onetouch Ping insulin pumps. The company will manage a transition to alternate devices for its patients, working with chosen partner, Medtronic plc, in that effort.
