The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) has been signed by the chief executives of each of the participating nations, but it has not been ratified by the U.S. Senate despite the passage of two weeks since the ceremonial signing Nov. 30. The agreement, which would overwrite the North American Free Trade Agreement, includes a concession from Canada regarding biotech exclusivity, currently set at eight years but scheduled to increase to 10 years upon enactment.
