For nearly a decade, the Federal Trade Commission has been in hot pursuit of the now-defunct Lab MD over allegations of data security violations, but a federal appeals court recently vacated an FTC cease-and-desist order imposed on Lab MD, seeming to bring to a close one of the more conspicuous federal prosecutions for data security lapses in recent memory.
