Luminetx, a division of Christie Medical Holdings (Memphis) and recently acquired by Christie Digital Systems USA (Cypress, California), has signed an exclusive national sales distribution agreement with New Alliance of Independent Medical Distributors (Alliance Medical; Austin). The agreement, effective last month, aligns the medical device company with Alliance Medical, a consortium of specialty medical sales distribution companies for intravenous devices, with comprehensive access to the U.S. acute, oncology and home health markets.

Chris Schnee, general manager and VP, sales and marketing for Christie Medical, said, “This partnership will expand the VeinViewer's domestic reach, further establishing vascular access imaging as an essential part of patient care in every medical facility.“

Alliance Medical's sales force is comprised of more than 70 representatives around the country, offering a full-range of medical devices to customers including all 5,200 hospitals across the U.S. and medical oncology markets. The distribution agreement will further expand market penetration for Luminetx and allow both companies to provide customers with a comprehensive vascular access portfolio, including consumable products and innovative technologies such as VeinViewer.

“Alliance Medical is very excited to become the exclusive U.S. distribution partner for the VeinViewer,“ said Gary Brown, COO of Alliance Medical.

In other agreements/contracts news, X-spine Systems (Miamisburg, Ohio), a global manufacturer of implants and instruments for spinal surgery, has entered into an exclusive license agreement with Gamma Spine (Toledo, Ohio) for the development and distribution of its minimally invasive spinal fixation technology. Gamma Spine will participate in the development process with X-spine. The patent-pending device allows for the fixation of adjacent vertebral segments with minimal tissue disruption while attaining the biomechanical advantages of a traditional full-exposure system.
