At Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) West 2009, Jabil (St. Petersburg, Florida) reported the debut of its single-use device (SUD) business, which the company says offers a superior option for outsourcing device design, manufacture and aftermarket services worldwide. Building on more than two decades of experience in medical electronic manufacturing services and plastics molding, Jabil says it has created a complete service offering that optimizes the economic and efficiency benefits of outsourcing SUDs.

At MD&M West, Jabil is exhibiting in booth #2523 where it is showcasing its history in the medical industry and promoting its SUD outsourcing capabilities, including drug delivery products, catheters, and diagnostic and laboratory disposables.

The firm has 25 years of plastics molding expertise, including sophisticated decoration technologies. The company offers in-depth expertise in a wide range of materials, including engineered resins, thermoplastic elastomers and urethanes, and silicone rubber. Class 6, 7 and 8 clean room environments are available for device assembly.

With customer authorization, Jabil can – in FDA or ISO13485 certified facilities – take customers' products and clean, refurbish or re-sterilize them for re-sale.

In other new ventures, Gray & Partners (Boston), an advertising firm, reported that it has opened its new corporate headquarters at 75 Arlington Street, Suite 500, in Boston. The full-service ad agency also reported the addition of new partners and the launch of its new web site to enhance its capabilities and extend its service portfolio.

The firm has hired Karen Albrektsen as its new creative strategist and partner, and Jon Patsavos as its new partner and director of business development.
