• Arcadia Resources (Indianapolis) reported the appointment of Matthew Middendorf as Arcadia’s CFO on a permanent basis, effective Feb. 1, 2008, succeeding Lynn Fetterman. Fetterman, who has been employed as Interim CFO since February 2007, will remain with the company through the conclusion of his employment agreement on May 24, 2008. Middendorf previously was a consultant to Arcadia HealthCare. Arcadia is a provider of home healthcare/medical staffing; respiratory/durable medical equipment and specialty pharmacy services under its DailyMed program. Additionally, it extends its healthcare offerings through affiliated and managed locations on a fee for service basis.

Paul Rice was named senior VP of quality assurance and regulatory affairs of Ascent Healthcare Solutions (Phoenix). Previously, Rice was a consultant with QSR Medical. Ascent Healthcare Solutions is a third-party reprocessor of single-use medical devices.

• BridgeHealth International (Denver) said that Andrew Dombro, MD, a medical executive and professor at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, has been named chief medical officer. In his current faculty position, he teaches and mentors medical students and residents in the University’s Division of Internal Medicine Hospital Medicine Section, where he was honored as a nominee for the 2007 Teaching Excellence Award. BridgeHealth maintains a worldwide network of physicians and accredited hospitals.

• Invacare (Elyria, Ohio) said that CFO, Gregory Thompson, has informed the company of his decision to leave for another opportunity. Thompson has agreed to continue on in his current capacity through March 1, at which time Gerald Blouch, president/CEO, will assume the additional responsibilities as acting CFO. Blouch joined Invacare in 1990 as CFO. Invacare makes home and long-term care medical products that promote recovery and active lifestyles.

• Lumenis (Yokneam, Israel) said that its COO, Zivi Nedivi, will leave Lumenis to take up position as CEO of a company in a different industry, but will remain with Lumenis as long as needed to ensure a smooth handover of his responsibilities. Lumenis makes laser, light-based and radio frequency devices for surgical, aesthetic, and ophthalmic applications.
