• John Quigley has been named VP of marketing for Barnev (Andover, Massachusetts). Previously, Quigley was VP of marketing for Matritech. Barnev makes BirthTrack, a continuous labor monitoring system.
• Hill-Rom (Batesville, Indiana), the medical technologies manufacturing unit of Hillenbrand Industries, said Jeff Kao will be president of North America acute care and Greg Tucholski will serve as president of international and surgical divisions. Kao joined Hill-Rom in May 2007, as a group VP in charge of sales and information technology solutions. Tucholski joined Hill-Rom in 2003 as a VP and general manager of sales in the Americas and Asia Pacific regions.
• Peter Hsu has been named VP of sales and marketing, North America, for Mindray Medical International (Shenzhen, China). Prior to joining Mindray, Hsu was managing director of SonoSite in North Asia. Mindray makes medical devices in China and says that it has “a rapidly growing international presence.
• OraSure Technologies (Bethlehem, Pennsylvania) said that Debra Fraser-Howze, current president/CEO of the National Black Leadership Commission on AIDS (NBLCA), will join the company as VP of government and external affairs on Jan. 7, 2008. Fraser-Howze has served as the President/CEO of NBLCA, an organization which she founded in 1987. OraSure makes oral fluid diagnostics.
