• Emageon (Birmingham, Alabama) has named Chris Perkins as COO. Perkins previously served at Per-Se Technologies in senior executive positions, including executive VP, CFO, and COO, prior to its acquisition by McKesson earlier this year. Emageon provides information technology systems for hospitals, healthcare networks and imaging facilities.

• Barry Wilson has been elected to serve as independent director and chairman of the board of Heartscape Technologies (Columbia, Maryland), which makes an FDA-approved device that diagnoses heart attacks and ischemia.

• William Shea has been elected chairman of Lucid (Rochester, New York) after previously serving as CEO of Conseco. Lucid specializes in medical imaging.
