• Graham Barnes has been named CEO of BidShift (San Diego). Prior to joining BidShift, Graham was senior VP at Covad Communications. BidShift provides staffing solutions to healthcare providers.
• The Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI; Washington) reported the appointment of Alex Coutinho, MD, a leader in HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment, as the new executive director of the IDI. Previously, Coutinho spent six years leading The AIDS Support Organization Uganda, the largest HIV/AIDS care and treatment organization in Africa. The IDI was established by the Academic Alliance for AIDS Care and Prevention in Africa, a grouping of infectious disease experts from Uganda and North America, supported by Pfizer Inc and other partners.
• Michael Malone has been named president/COO of RemedyMD (Salt Lake City). Previously, Malone was president/COO for IBRIX. RemedyMD makes predictive informatics to recognize patterns to personalize treatment.
