• Joe Costa has been named VP of marketing of Aethon (Pittsburgh). Previously Costa was VP of strategic operations for Medisys Group. Aethon specializes in automating the hospital supply chain.

David Lorenzi has been named president/CEO of Advanced Bio-Surfaces (ABS; Minneapolis). Lorenzi’s experience includes roles as president/CEO for both OMNI life science, and PLUS Orthopedics USA. ABS is a privately held company focused on joint restoration products.

Laurie McKenzie-Carter has been promoted to CFO of International Isotopes (Idaho Falls, Idaho). McKenzie-Carter joined International Isotopes in August 2007 as chief accounting officer. International Isotopes develops nuclear medicine calibration and reference standards, high purity fluoride gases, and a variety of cobalt-60 products such as teletherapy sources.

Michael Ferrara has been named CEO of MFIC (Newton, Massachusetts) and also named to the company’s board. Ferrara was most recently president/CEO of X-Rite. MFIC, through its Microfluidics division, makes Microfluidizer materials processing and formulation equipment for the biotech, pharma chemical, cosmetics/personal care and food industries.
