• Celsion (Columbia, Maryland) reported the departure of Anthony Deasey, its CFO, effective Sept. 28. Paul Susie, company controller, will assume the position of interim chief accounting officer and the responsibilities of chief financial officer. Celsion makes oncology drugs including tumor-targeting treatments using focused heat energy in combination with heat activated drug delivery systems.

• Mindray Medical International (Shenzhen, China) reported the promotion of two senior executives, Minghe Cheng and Jie Liu, and named Patrick Ma as assistant VP of finance. Cheng, co-founder of Mindray and executive VP of sales and marketing since 2004, will serve as executive VP of strategic development. Cheng served as Mindray’s executive VP of sales and marketing. Liu will serve as EVP of international sales and marketing. Previously, Liu was Mindray’s VP of international sales and marketing. Mindray makes patient monitoring devices, diagnostic laboratory instruments, and ultrasound imaging systems.

John Cifarelli has been named VP of sales of NeoGuide Systems (San Jose, California). Most previously Cifarelli was VP of GM at Olympus America. NeoGuide Systems specializes in endoscopic procedures.

• ONI Medical (Wilmington, Massachusetts) reported three new appointments to its executive team; Paul Falvey to CFO; D. Bryce Fehr to VP of sales and corporate accounts; and Richard Mallozzi, PhD, to MRI Physicist. Falvey most recently served as director of finance for Shields Health Care Group; Fehr worked at Invivo; and Mallozzi was with GE Global Research. ONI Medical makes MRI systems.

Kathy Lang has been named director of trade relations of Valeritas (Parsippany, New Jersey). Lang joins the company from Auxilium Pharmaceuticals. Valeritas makes drug delivery solutions.

Paul Sendro has been named president/CEO of Vertebron (Stratford, Connecticut). He was previously president/CEO of Blackstone Medical. Vertebron is a spinal implant manufacturer.
