• Dan McMahon has been named director of marketing for CytoCore (Chicago). McMahon previously worked for Baxter and Viasys in a marketing capacity. CytoCore is a medical device and pharmaceutical research company involved in the early detection and treatment of reproductive-tract cancers.

• Tarif Awad, PhD, has been named director of external scientific collaborations of VisEn Medical (Woburn, Massachusetts). Awad previously was senior manager of pharmaceutical and industrial collaborations at Affymetrix. VisEn makes fluorescent in vivo imaging.
