Linda Davrath has been named head of clinical research and clinical application for BSP Medical (Tel Aviv, Israel). Amir Beker, BSP's CEO, said "Dr. Davrath has vast and valuable experience in the field of cardiopulmonary physiology." BSP provides solutions for the diagnosis and monitoring of heart disease.

Philip Theodore has been named VP and general counsel of CryoLife (Atlanta). Most recently, Theodore was senior VP and general counsel of John H. Harland. CryoLife is a biomaterials, medical device and tissue processing company.

Hank Plain has been named partner of Morgenthaler Ventures (Menlo Park, California). Plain joins Morgenthaler from The Foundry, a medical device incubator. Morgenthaler Ventures is a venture capital firm focused on life science and information technology investments.

Jerzy Gruhn has been named president of Novo Nordisk (Princeton, New Jersey), effective Jan. 1. Gruhn is currently VP of Novo Nordisk's Eastern Europe region. Novo Nordisk is a diabetes therapy company.

Wesley McDermott has been named VP of new business development for Pioneer Surgical Technology (Marquette, Michigan). McDermott previously was group manager of business development for Boston Scientific's cardiac rhythm management division. Pioneer Surgical makes spinal and orthopedic implants.

Stephen Buttron has been named VP of worldwide regulatory and quality affairs for SpineVision (San Francisco). Previously, Buttron was director of regulatory affairs for Kyphon. SpineVision is focused on the development of implants and instrumentation for spinal treatment.

Ray Moss has been named VP/chief information officer for Valley Presbyterian Hospital (Van Nuys, California). Currently, Moss serves as client executive for Perot Systems supporting Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
