MedQuist (Mount Laurel, New Jersey) reported that it has signed a long-term contract with Amerinet (St. Louis), one of the nation's largest group purchasing organizations, for SpeechQ for Radiology speech recognition software. The agreement was awarded for three years beginning on June 1.

Amerinet serves more than 22,000 acute and non-acute healthcare providers nationwide. According to John Sutton, senior contracting manager, Diagnostic Imaging, "Amerinet has a comprehensive program of healthcare informatics, including PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems) and other technologies. SpeechQ will be a valuable addition as we continue to build our technology portfolio."

Powered by the Philips (Andover, Massachusetts) SpeechMagic speech engine, SpeechQ for Radiology integrates with most radiology-specific information systems and PACS, and was rated number one for front-end speech recognition by its customers in the most recent KLAS Enterprise Speech Recognition Report.
