The Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA; Washington) recently added to its board Mark Sieczkarek, president/CEO of Conceptus (Mountain View, California) and Wil Boren IV, corporate VP and officer of Biomet (Warsaw, Indiana).

Those also elected at the board meeting on May 18: Joe Kiani, CEO and chairman of Masimo (Irvine, California) was elected chairman for a two-year term. The board also elected Eamonn Hobbs, president/CEO of AngioDynamics (Queensbury, New York), as vice chair, Kelvyn Cullimore Jr., president/CEO of Dynatronics (Salt Lake City), as secretary and Alex Lukianov, chairman/CEO of Nuvasive (San Diego), as treasurer.

“It is a privilege to serve on the MDMA Board of Directors and represent the interests of the medical technology industry,” Sieczkarek said. “MDMA focuses on the key issues that impact innovative, entrepreneurial medical technology companies and I look forward to being an active contributor.”

“It is an honor to be elected by the membership and serve on the MDMA Board,” Boren said. “I have been an active member in MDMA and have been very impressed with the success the organization has had on critical issues impacting patient care and innovation. I look forward to continuing my work on behalf of the MDMA Membership.”

MDMA represents entrepreneurs in the medical device industry, identifying its mission as improving “the quality of patient care by encouraging the development of new medical technology and fostering the availability of innovative products in the marketplace.”
