Globus Medical buys new facility
Globus Medical (Phoenixville, Pennsylvania), one of the 10 largest spinal implant manufacturers in the U.S., reported its purchase of a 133,000-square-foot, mixed-use facility in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. The site, situated on 13 acres in the Valley Forge Business Center, will more than quadruple the size of Globus Medical's facilities, currently housed in three separate, leased locations.
The move, to take place this summer, will enable the company to consolidate its headquarters, research, design, custom engineering and operations departments under one roof. The new headquarters will also serve as the future home of a training facility for spine education, featuring a cadaver lab, dry lab and a multi-media classroom that accommodates up to 40 participants.
“We're building a long-term home for Globus Medical,” said CFO Dave Demski.
“We're excited about the opportunity to expand our already extensive prototype fabrication facilities – a critical element in our unique product development process and the quick results it produces.”
