Lucia Luce Quinn has been named executive vice president of human resources forBoston Scientific(Natick, Massachusetts). Prior to joining Boston Scientific in January, she served as senior vice president of Quest Diagnostics.

Thomas Hook will serve as president of Greatbatch (Clarence, New York). In addition to the title of president, Hook will retain his current role as chief operating officer. Edward Voboril, who had been serving as president, will retain his current roles of chairman of the board and CEO. Prior to joining Greatbach in September 2004, Hook was employed by CTI Molecular Imaging where he served most recently as president, CTI Solutions Group. Greatbatch is a manufacturer of critical components used in implantable medical devices and other technically demanding applications.

Bill Block has joined HemCon (Portland, Oregon) as executive vice president of sales and marketing. Block brings more than 17 years of experience from healthcare and medical technology companies, including Cardinal Health, OraSure Technologies, McKesson HBOC, Baxter Healthcare, Allegiance Healthcare and BioTronics Enterprises. HemCon makes the HemCon Bandage, a pliable, sterile, chitosan dressing capable of stopping severe external hemorrhage following trauma and penetrating injury.

Eamonn Hobbs, president and CEO of AngioDynamics (Queensbury, New York), was elected to the Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA; Washington) board of directors at the organization’s annual meeting last month.
