Donna Boles has been promoted to vice president, human resources for BD (Becton, Dickinson and Co.; Frank-lin Lakes, New Jersey), effective June 1. Since 2001, Boles has served as vice president, human resources in BD Medical, BD's largest segment. Boles will succeed Jean-Marc Dageville, who will become vice president for strategic planning and development for the company in Europe. In her senior leadership role, Boles will become a member of the BD Leadership Team and the Development Committee. BD manufactures medical supplies, devices, laboratory equipment and diagnostic products.

Luminex (Austin, Texas), a manufacturer of life science and biological testing technologies, has named Russell Bradley vice president, business development and strategic planning. Bradley served most recently as director of Beckman Coulter's CARES initiative and previously as director of market and commercial development for Beckman Coulter. Luminex also made two related executive appointments: Gregory Gosch as vice president, marketing and sales, and Randel Marfin as vice president, Luminex Bioscience Group, a new position.

Brent Shafer has been appointed as executive vice president and CEO, sales and service region for North America, for Philips Medical Systems (Andover, Massachusetts), a division of Royal Philips Electronics. Most recently, Shafer was vice president and general manager, Patient Environment Division at HILL-ROM. Philips manufactures X-ray, ultrasound, magnetic resonance, computed tomography, nuclear medicine, PET, radiation oncology systems, patient monitoring, information management and resuscitation products.
