• Aethon (Pittsburgh), a provider of low-cost solutions for automating transport in hospitals, reported new staff appointments, including the addition of three regional vice presidents. Those named as regional vice presidents are: Kevin Hill, Southeast region, formerly with ForHealth Technologies; Jeff Arbuckle, Midwest region, formerly with Omnicell; and Karen Dockrell, Northeast region, formerly with McKesson Automated Prescription Services.

Greg Cathcart has joined Edge Dynamics (Redwood City, California) as vice president and general manager of its life sciences business. Most recently, Cathcart was director of life sciences at SAP. Edge Dynamics provides enterprise software for commerce optimization, enabling pharmaceutical manufacturers to maximize their financial performance and enforce operations compliance.

Kevin Lusardi has resigned as CFO of Milestone Scientific (Livingston, New Jersey) to pursue other opportunities. He will be working as a consultant to the company in the interim. The company appointed Rosaline Shau to serve as acting CFO and acting chief accounting officer. Shau joined Milestone as assistant controller in October 2004. Milestone Scientific makes the CompuMed and CompuDent computer-controlled local anesthetic delivery systems, and the SafetyWand, which incorporates engineered sharps injury protection features to aid in the prevention of accidental needlesticks. The company also develops consumer and professional teeth-whitening systems.
