• John Caloz has been named CFO and treasurer of OccuLogix (Toronto), effective June 1. Caloz succeeds William Dumencu, who will remain with the company as vice president, finance. Caloz served most recently as CFO for IRIS International from 2001-2004. OccuLogix develops an ophthalmology device technology for treatment of age-related macular degeneration.
• Mark Goudie, vice president, finance and CFO of WorldHeart (Oakland, California), has left the company. Goudie oversaw the consolidation of the Canadian commercial operations of WorldHeart in Ottawa, Ontario, to Oakland, which is now substantially complete. He has chosen not to relocate from Ottawa to California. Goudie will remain on the WorldHeart board of directors and will continue to serve WorldHeart as a consultant through September. WorldHeart is a manufacturer of mechanical circulatory support systems.
