Clinical information system provider Mediware Information Systems(Lexana, Kansas) reported that George “Bud” Barry would step down as president, CEO and a director in October. Barry agreed to be available for consulting with the company and also serve on the board’s succession committee. Barry served as Mediware’s CFO in 1997-1998, and then rejoined the company as CEO in January 2001 to manage a major restructuring, largely completed in early 2004, the company said. Mediware provides systems for hospitals and integrated healthcare delivery systems.

Lynn Seely, MD, has been named chief medical officer for Orion Acquisition Corp. II (San Francisco). Seely most recently was vice president of clinical development at Corgen- tech. Orion Acquisition Corp. II/Medivation acquires and develops drug and medical device product candidates with a focus on early clinical development.

Kevin Gould has been promoted to chief operating officer of Tyco Healthcare (Mansfield, Massachusetts). Gould also will retain his current responsibilities as group president of Tyco Healthcare North America. Tyco Healthcare, a business of Tyco International, manufactures disposable medical supplies, monitoring equipment, medical instruments and bulk analgesic pharmaceuticals, sold under such names as Auto Suture, Kendall, Mallinckrodt, Nellcor, Puritan Bennett, United States Surgical, Valleylab and others.
