Gary Kunkle Jr., chief executive ofDentsply International(York, Pennsylvania), has been appointed company chairman. He was formerly vice chairman of the board. Kunkle succeeds John Miles II, who served as chairman for about seven years and will continue to be a director. Dentsply manufacures products for the dental industry.

Mike Holton, formerly assistant director for financial management assistance for the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC; Washington), has been named vice president, product management, at MDServe (Stafford, Texas). MDServe develops healthcare software and works in partnership with NACHC to offer the Technology Support Program, a suite of healthcare IT applications, including MDServe Practice Management System and CliniFlow EMR that facilitate services, data collection and compliance with local, state and federal requirements.

John Lettko has been named CEO for ProxyMed (Atlanta), a provider of healthcare transaction processing and cost containment services. Lettko previously served as CEO and chairman of the board for Viewpointe. ProxyMed provides connectivity, medical cost containment services, business process outsourcing solutions and related products to physicians, payers, pharmacies and medical laboratories.

Matthew Plavan has been appointed CFO of ThermoGenesis (Rancho Cordova, California). Plavan succeeds Renee Ruecker, who sought reduced working hours for family reasons and who will become director of Securities and Exchange Commission reporting, a position created to accommodate Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements. Most recently Plavan was CFO of StrionAir. ThermoGenesis develops enabling technologies for cell therapeutics.
