MEDirect Latino(Plantation, Florida), a provider of direct-to-consumer Medicare-reimbursed products focused on chronic diseases afflicting the Hispanic community in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, said it would expand operations of its Medicare reimbursement model to meet increasing demand in Puerto Rico. The company distributes diabetic testing products in the U.S. and in 37 of 78 Puerto Rican municipalities.

MEDirect Latino’s television advertising campaign in Puerto Rico focuses on Medicare-eligible consumers and its provision to them of direct-to-consumer diabetic testing supplies.

Rapid growth in Puerto Rico has been achieved, MEDirect said, by distribution to those who have been underserved due to their rural location, lack of access to transportation or physical impairment, factors that restrict access to daily blood sugar monitoring. The expansion will include adding infrastructure to handle added distribution capacity as a result of its media rollout, it said.
