New research published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology (JACC) concludes that diabetic patients not on insulin who received the Resolute Integrity drug-eluting stent from Medtronic (Minneapolis) fared just as well as patients without diabetes. The Resolute Zotarolimus-eluting stent (R-ZES) is the only stent of its kind that is FDA approved with a specific indication for treating coronary artery disease (CAD) in patients with diabetes mellitus.
