Cardinor secures CE mark for cardiovascular risk test

Norwegian diagnostics company Cardinor AS landed a CE mark for its Secretoneurin (SN) ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay). The blood-based test detects SN, a small 33-amino acid neuropeptide produced by neuroendocrine and heart muscle cells. Studies have shown the biomarker is a predictor of mortality in major patient cohorts, including ventricular arrhythmia, acute heart failure, acute respiratory failure patients with cardiovascular disease (CVD) and severe sepsis.

Nomic in $17M series A funding for high-throughput proteomic platform

Protein profiling startup Nomic Bio has secured $17 million in an oversubscribed series A financing led by Lux Capital. The funds will be used to expand the company’s servicing and manufacturing labs in Montreal and Boston, to broaden access to its proteomic platform by scaling profiling capacity to 100,000 samples per quarter starting in the second quarter of 2022 and by scaling its protein-detection method, called nELISA, to 500 on-boarded proteins.

Cardinor secures funding to develop a new generation of ELISA assay for cardiovascular disease

Paris – Cardinor AS has secured $1.44 million to commercialize development of a novel ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) blood test that uses secretoneurin as a blood-based biomarker for heart disease and sudden cardiac arrest. London-based Intuitive Investments Group plc participated in this third seed round, along with existing Belgium and German investors.

Kantaro receives FDA EUA for COVID antibody test

Kantaro Biosciences LLC, a joint venture between the Mount Sinai Health System and RenalytixAI, has received emergency use authorization from the U.S. FDA for its semi-quantitative SARS-CoV-2 IgG antibody test kit. Known as COVID-Seroklir, the test determines the presence and precise level of IgG antibodies. It has demonstrated 98.8% sensitivity and 99.6% specificity for detecting SARS-CoV-2 specific IgG antibodies against two virus antigens, the full-length spike protein and its receptor-binding domain.
